General information, not an individual legal opinion. Requirements depend on your status and circumstances. Check current official guidance before applying.
Check the procedure first
Since 27 April 2026, applications for temporary residence, permanent residence and EU long-term resident status generally use the new MOS portal. Exceptions include certain ICT procedures and some family applications for a person outside Poland. Start with the official section for your procedure, not a universal social-media checklist.
If proceedings began before the portal changed, do not create a duplicate application merely because there is a new system. Check how your existing case should continue.
Keep control of access and signatures
MOS uses login.gov.pl. Check your access and an electronic signature method accepted for your circumstances ahead of time. Assistance with filling in a form does not require sharing passwords, confirmation codes or access to a bank account. A representative should not use your account in your place.
Make sure you can receive messages at your registered email address. Do not leave access checks until the last day of your lawful stay.
Prepare dependencies early
Attachments depend on the residence grounds. Some applications need an electronically signed document from an employer, educational institution or another organisation. Arrange their participation in advance. Check legibility, complete pages and current file limits directly in MOS.
The application is completed in Polish. Names and details should match the documents. This website does not accept scans: preparing files for a government portal and making an initial INFOCOM enquiry are separate actions.
Saving is not submitting
A draft lets you return to your work but does not prove that the authority received an application. After reviewing the information, complete the portal's signing and sending steps. Retain the application, attachments and official acknowledgement of receipt, UPO.
If no UPO is available, establish the status using official instructions. Do not treat a screenshot of a completed form as proof of submission, or send duplicates without checking.
The process continues afterwards
Electronic submission does not make the entire procedure remote. The authority may summon you to appear, provide fingerprints, present originals or supply additional evidence. Monitor correspondence and the deadlines stated in it.
For technical outages, consult official UdSC announcements and the rules applicable to your procedure. Merely preparing an application does not extend residence. An approaching deadline or uncertain status calls for an individual review, not a prediction from an online checklist.
